Gurudongma Birding  - Peter Lobo’s Newsletter 2004-2005

If 2002-2003 was a year for explorations and maiden tours, the year 2004, has been a successful follow through with most of the circuits maturing into productive birding tours.

The years 2002 and 2003, were highlighted by new exploration and setting up new birding tours .  I explored the following birding areas:-

·        Great Himalayan National Park, in Himachal Pradesh

·        The Bailey Trail (West Kameng),

·        Namdhapa in Arunachal Pradesh ,

·        Dibru Saikhowa, and Manas in Assam,

·        Shillong and Cherapunji in Meghalaya.

·        Vershay Rododendron Sanctuary in Sikkim

·        Manas in Assam & Bhutan

·        Pench Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh

·        Sasan Gir, Velavadar, Little Rann of Kutch, Jamnagar and Nal Sarover in Gujerat

·        Kumbalgarh and the Desert National Park in Rajasthan

These Explorations were followed up by the Gurudongma team, designing several tours. I operated tours in Namdhapa, in combination with Dibru Saikhowa and Kaziranga, and in the Great Himalayan National Park combined with Lava and Singelila.

In 2004, our North East tours matured with deeper explorations of Namdhapa and Dibru saikhowa. I operated and guided the following Tours:
