Violaceous Trogon (Trogon violaceus) at the Metropolitan Nature Park, one of the five species of trogons found nearby Panama City.

Guido C. Berguido is native to Panama City, Panama. He has a degree in Biology from the University of Panama and is a Certified Guide through the National Association for Interpretation (USA).

For more than seven years, he has lead nature and birdwatching tours for the most important tour operators of the region and has been involved in environmental education and conservation activities with the Smithsonian Institution and the Panama Audubon Society.

Listed in the Top Guides section of Panama's Lonely Planet Guidebook as "....one of the country's most patient, qualified, and enthusiastic all-around guides". Guido Berguido can arrange a classic neo-tropical birding tour covering some of the region's most interesting and bird-rich habitats.

Profile:

John F. Kvarnbäck, 33 years old biologist, originally from Sweden but now living in Caracas, Venezuela since a few years back. A keen birdwatcher and ringer since childhood in Sweden and now he has really taken the Venezuelan birds to his heart.

He has a particularly good knowledge of the fauna in the Andes, the central coastal mountain range, Bolivar state, and of the Venezuelan plains ("Los Llanos", where he did his Master's thesis in 2002 about the semi-endemic Yellow-knobbed Curassow (Crax daubentoni)).

He speaks Swedish, English and Spanish.
