![]() Nafis Mohammed - The Tiger Tracker |
| Nafis Mohammed is a naturalist who lives in the town of Sawai Madhopur on the edge of the forest. Nafis has been visiting the Ranthambhore National Park since he was a small child and has over many years built up an almost encyclopedic knowledge of both the forest and the tiger. He started by accompanying his uncle who was a jeep driver, initially to practise his English with the tourists and eventually to learn more about this wonderful place that he has lived next to all his life. He then became a driver in his own right, for years he drove throughout the forest, often helping people realize their dreams of seeing a tiger in the wild. Several years later he trained and became a fully qualified naturalist. Nafis has an incredible instinct for finding tigers. He also can predict many things, such as a particular tigers movements, where they will appear and at what time. If you are visiting Ranthambhore and would like to hire Nafis you can contact him directly in India. He can organize most things in Ranthambhore inc hotels, transport and park entrance. Please ensure you give him as much notice as possible as to when you are planning to visit as he is always very busy throughout the season. |
